Iota Eta Pi Initiation - Rules and Information

CONGRATULATIONS!

You are just one step from full Sisterhood in
Iota Eta Pi!!!

The Penn State Greek website defines "Initiation" as:

A ceremony where a new member becomes a full member of the organization. Initiation ceremonies are private and different for all organizations.

Another website on "Campus Activities" discusses Sorority and Fraternity Ritual Secrets:

"The secrecy of fraternity and sorority rituals has created tremendous interest throughout Greek history. This mysteriousness of these societies has led to many rumors and guesses regarding just exactly what goes on when the Greeks close the doors and initiate new members....

"For many Greeks, initiation is one of the highlights of their Greek experience. It involves the entire chapter and is conducted in a dignified and formal manner. There are usually props and special clothing worn by the initiating officers. The rest of the chapter dresses is a specific color or attire....

"Fraternity and sorority members greatly value their organization's secrets and find great pleasure in introducing new members to them...."

We at I-Ate-a-Pie are no different. Our Initiation Ritual is private and unique, involving "props and special clothing" and myriad activities in which everyone will always "find great pleasure"!

Once your performance in your Pledge Thread satisfies us that you're fully ready to become our I-Ate-a-Pie Sister, then we'll close your Pledge Thread, and organize your Initiation Ritual.

Rules for Initiation

1) You must obey every rule.

2) You must obey every current I-Ate-a-Pie Sister, unless her order contradicts or is countermanded by the Chapter President or the House Mother.

3) You must obey the Chapter President, unless her order contradicts or is countermanded by or the House Mother.

4) You must obey the House Mother.

5) You may not start a new thread; i.e., you may not use the "Post a new Topic" function. When your Pledge Thread satisfies us that you're ready to become our I-Ate-a-Pie Sister, then we'll close your Pledge Thread, and start your Initiation Ritual.

There's no way to predict how long your Initiation Ritual may last. It depends on if you are being initiated alone, or if other Pledges are being initiated with you. While every initiation involves certain defined elements, the inevitable excitement of adding a new Sister to our House makes every Initiation unique and memorable.

Once your Initiation Ritual is complete, you will be our Sister, with all the privileges attendant thereto. At that point, you will be given your own room at the Iota Eta Pi House, and have an opportunity to help Rush, Pledge, and Initiate new girls into our Sapphic Sorority.

Have fun! Now you know, and will never forget, why everyone's always said:

"A girl would do ANYTHING for a chance to pledge Iota Eta Pi."

Lastly, if you have any questions about Initiation into Iota Eta Pi, please feel free to post them below.
